After almost three years of international cooperation, the GreenVET Pathway – Green Transition for VET Institutions project has come to an end with an excellent final evaluation: the project received 94 out of 100 points from the German National Agency and was awarded Best Practice recognition.

Launched in 2023, the Erasmus+ project brought together partners from seven European countries: Cyprus, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia and Slovenia. Its shared goal was to support vocational education and training institutions in becoming active drivers of the green transition.

From individual actions to a whole-institution approach

The green transition requires more than individual sustainability initiatives. Throughout the GreenVET Pathway project, the partners worked to strengthen a whole-institution approach to sustainability, integrating sustainable development into the values, teaching practices and everyday operations of VET institutions.

One of the project’s key outcomes was the GreenVET Framework, designed to help VET institutions assess their current sustainability practices and plan their development towards greener and more sustainable operations.

The project also established an international Community of Practice, bringing together VET institutions from the participating countries to exchange experiences, share good practices and learn from one another. Workshops, training events, publications and practical materials supported this collaborative learning throughout the project.

A strong result built through European cooperation

The final evaluation recognised the quality and impact of the work carried out during the project. Receiving 94/100 points and Best Practice recognition is an important acknowledgement of the commitment, expertise and collaboration of the entire GreenVET partnership.

The project’s success was made possible by the active contribution of all project partners as well as the VET schools involved as associated partners. Their ideas, experiences and willingness to develop new approaches to sustainability were at the heart of GreenVET Pathway.

Although the project itself has now concluded, its work continues through the tools, networks and practices created during the three-year cooperation. The GreenVET Framework and the connections established through the Community of Practice provide a strong foundation for VET institutions to continue developing their role in the green transition.

For OEP, GreenVET Pathway has also strengthened our experience in participating in European cooperation projects and collaborating with vocational education institutions in the areas of sustainable development and vocational excellence.

A warm thank you to Wisamar and all other partners and participating schools for making GreenVET Pathway a success!
