OEP offers Finnish competency-based diploma programs that recognize and develop a wide range of talent. The programs focus strongly on work-based learning and applying knowledge and professional skills in practice. The programs are based on Finnish vocational and professional qualifications. Competence is assessed according to the standards developed by the Finnish National Agency for Education.
The programs are recognized at the European qualification framework levels 4 and 5 in the EU and most OECD countries.
Diploma programs offer more than academic skills
All programs include 21st century skills. Soft skills, such as problem solving, team working, communication skills, digital literacy as well as entrepreneurial thinking equip the learners with the competence they need for both work and future studies.
Why Finnish diploma programs?
- Best completion rate in OECD
- Competency-based diploma programs with prior learning recognized
- Designed for both individual’s and organization’s needs
- Flexibility through modular curricula
- Life-long learning skills enhance career and employability
The diploma programs follow the Finnish curriculum, but allow for localization as well as tailoring content to a specific sector.
The Further and Specialist Qualification programs (equivalent to Diploma and Higher Diploma) are typically completed through part-time study during 10–12 months. The programs are taught in a blended learning format combining workshops, online and work-based learning.
